I stumbled across the ocean bar at a local market in Southern California over two years ago and since then, I've been buying their products ever since. I'm clamoring for them to make the epic chocolate granola into a bar because well, I travel a lot and bars are far easier to pack and travel with. The products I've tried have all been 5/5 stars. This company is simply the best. The people are kind, the customer service is great. My only issue is, well the epic chocolate was a limited release and it isn't in bar form lol. I'd empty the bank account to ensure this becomes a staple, and in bar form. Where's the kickstarter page for this? Hehe.
Now Nana Joes is in San Fran, and I live in New York. But I want to give a shout out to the best keto granola I've found (personally, I always order the hazelnut, almond butter & pecan blend from the paleo sunrise series). Not only is every ingredient organic, but it's also handmade and you can tell it's fresh. It's clearly minimally processed. Unlike the majority of hard and overly crunchy granola, Nana Joes granola has what I can best describe as a "soft crunch." The fresh until ("best by") date is always a few months out, indicating that it is made quality and not sustained shelf life.
We're all a little snacky nowadays. Whether you're watching TV, going on long hikes, helping take care of your family, working long hours etc -many of us have just become a little more snacky. Whether it's crackers, celery, yogurt topped with cacao nibs, seeds etc - crunchy snacks are my favorite. If you're a crunch fiend like me and looking to elevate your crunchy snacks - then look no further than Nana Joes Granola. It's superb. Made with love and top ingredients - it's a truly blissful snack, as well as being vegan and gluten free. Nana Joes has an array of masterful blends - ranging from Pecan, Mulberry & Coconut, to Orange, Almond butter & Pecan. She even carries spiced nuts and granola bars to go. You can find Nana Joes products in an array of local grocery stores in the Bay Area - but you can also buy her products directly from her online store - https://nanajoes.com/collections/granola. If you're looking to get your crunch on - I highly recommend checking out Nana Joes. Trust.
AHH everyone GET. A. BAG!!! OR LOTS OF BAGS!! I apologize for the all caps statement, but hopefully that just shows how enthusiastic I am about the product. I bought mine online, and they offer free shipping for orders$30+, which I gladly took advantage of. Here's what I got: - Full Heart Blend: Almond Butter, Dulce, Apple, Pecan - Sunset Blend: Pecan, Mulberry, and Coconut - Cluster Blend: Cashew and White Peach - Paleo Sunrise Series: Hu Kitchen Chocolate Blend Oh my. Oh my. First off, I've had the cluster blend (cashew and white peach) before, as I found it at my local Whole Foods. The large clusters are nice to eat like granola bar chunks- makes a great snack! My first big addiction, however, was the Full Heart Blend (paleo, grain free). I opened my bag, took a handful, and fell in love. I knew from reading the reviews that it would taste like apple pie, but after trying it myself, I really understood. It's apple and spice and everything nice! The best part? The crunchy dried apples- somehow the fruit in the granola tastes SO incredibly fresh, and it's SO addictive (I'm almost running out, I must ration, and I need to order more haha). I also can't believe it's paleo and grain free, and the mixture is all nuts and seeds. It seriously does not taste too "paleo/healthy" and if you're looking to ease into nut based granola, definitely try Nana Joe's Paleo Series. That brings me to the second paleo granola I (also) fell in love with: the Hu Kitchen Blend, drizzled with the famous Hu Chocolate. I already love Hu Chocolate, and I love Nana Joe's, so as you can imagine, this was practically a match made in heaven. The chocolate embedded in the granola had the most silky, buttery, rich flavor that radiated the bittersweet notes of high quality cacao. Again, this is grain free, and the almond slivers and coconut shreds were the perfect foods to complement the chocolate. It doesn't taste too coconut-y though; it's just right and you get a hint of it at the end! This one is like dessert! Now, last but not leaaast, the Sunset Blend. On the website, they claim that it's their most "refreshing granola." I was excited to see dried mulberries in the ingredients list, because those things are delish! This granola is made with oats, so it's not grain free, but it's vegan. And OMG. The crunch of the granola is perfect (with a little chew from the oats), and the dried mulberries could not be more perfect- airy and crunchy and bursting with fresh sweetness. They're like little surprises as you eat your granola. I honestly don't taste too much coconut, which is nice, because I don't like that flavor to overpower. I LOVE this granola on its own, in a bowl w/ oat milk/almond milk, as an acai or smoothie bowl topping, with oatmeal, on chia pudding, ah the possibilities are endless! Okay so I just realized this is an incredibly long review. But make sure you support Nana Joe's especially if you live in the Bay Area- all their granola is made in SF! I absolutely love supporting local businesses :) with phenomenal products.
I bought my bag of granola from a wonderful lady at Erewhon in Venice and I am soooo happy with my purchase. Mine has coconut, mulberries, and pecans. Its warm and delicious. I highly recommend.
I just tried a bag of Nana Joe's Granola for the first time today and it's absolutely delicious! The texture is crisp & light and it's got the perfect amount of sweetness. Being gluten, dairy & vanilla intolerant, I was thrilled to find this granola that doesn't contain any of those culprits at Whole Foods Market in San Ramon. The flavor that I purchased is the Paleo Sunrise Series; Cranberry, Almond Butter & Pecan. I love to take a banana and dip it into the dry granola for an easy breakfast or anytime snack. I will definitely be purchasing this again and look forward to trying other flavors!
Super tasty granola, granola bars and nuts! They use organic and gluten free ingredients of very high quality and freshness. You can also find them at the SF ferry building farmers market on Saturdays!
I first learned about Nana Joes at a granola class at 18 reasons. We learned how Nana Joes is made- first of all only the finest, freshest ingredients. Each time she reviewed with the class about one step in the process or one item in the recipe- I thought - Oh that's the secret that makes it better than any granola I've even eaten. The real secret is the passion about doing things right and the love of making a product that is truly superior. Treat yourself- try some!
Nana Joe's granola was created by michelle for her family and friends to enjoy. she was soon encouraged to market it. the rest of the story is herstory as they say. locale: new taste marketplace(3/12) granola varieties'- -cashew, white peach' orange cardamum walnut -pecan mulberry carrot sampling: cashew, white peach granola (8?) 16 oz. -generous amounts of dried white peach with rolled oats, wheat germ, maple syrup, flax seeds, saffower ois, maiden sea salt, vanilla beans, cinnamon, and nutmeg. all organic except the peach. *nice snack to munch on. heard it's good on yogurt. (should carry this around. no need to pay for toppings!). foodnotes: -samples generously offered -while all granola tasted good, the peach excelled with the abundance of dried fruit. the contrast of hard and soft crunch didn't hurt either.
